Our client is a small, growing CRO in the suburbs of Boston/Cambridge and they are seeking experienced Vet Techs to join their Surgical Research group.  These are full-time, permanent roles and the Hiring Manager has the flexibility to consider profiles ranging from junior to senior individual contributors. 

The main function of this role is to support the Veterinary Services group for a variety of clients and surgical research studies, using both small and large animal models.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•  Dosing, blood/tissue collection, and necropsy
•  Pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of animals
•  Set-up and administration of anesthesia
•  Generate and submit data in accordance with GLP guidelines.

Qualified candidates will have a HS degree or higher (BS degree or higher preferred).  AALAS certifications at ALAT or higher also preferred.  SRS and SRT certifications also welcome.

Our client is a medical device and pharmaceutical Contract Research Organization in the suburbs of Boston.  They are expanding their Pathology Department to meet customer demand and are looking to hire multiple Pathology Technicians!  Come join a tight-knit team led by experienced Toxicologists and Pathologists as they grow and expand into other therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
•   Necropsy and perfusion techniques, tissue specimen collection and labeling
•   Paraffin and resin tissue processing including embedding, sawing, grinding, microtomy, and slide staining  
•   Slide, tissue block, and data record generation and organization
•   Generate quality data in compliance with GLP guidelines and document deviations and incidents.
•   For more experienced candidates (Level III): development and implementation of immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and in-situ hybridization (ISH) assays.  Also, imaging cells and tissue samples using brightfield and fluorescence microscopy.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Associate's Degree or higher in Veterinary Science/Technology, Animal Science, or related field

• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in clinical/private practice or research settings

Our client is a large research institution in Boston with a complex and diverse Lab Animal Medicine program. This role will be part of a centralized department that is tasked with providing facilities, services, and information to facilitate effective research using laboratory animals at the institution.
